Wilmot Book Club
Wilmot Book Club is open to all, meeting the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Parlour, over a cup of tea. Join in lively discussion of a variety of popular books and receive updated emails.
The titles that we choose for group discussion are suggested by group members and a consensus is reached based on the availability, affordability, like-ability and current interest level for the book. We have been known to change our minds about our desire to keep a book on our list a few months in advance of its being discussed, based on member feed-back and enthusiasm!
We choose 10 books a year, including biography, a literary classic that has stood the test of time, Canadian fiction, local Maritime fiction and titles from current best seller lists. At least once a year we try to invite a guest author, literature academic, or person with personal insight into the plot or author’s life to enhance our discussions.
We endeavour to keep our discussions respectful of everyone’s opinion and judgment of any given book, and find that it enriches the process of enjoying the wonderful resources that the written word offers to our lives.
