Pastoral Care & Health

"Pastoral Care is at the heart of almost all of the activities that take place in our congregation. Many acts of pastoral care are not known to the congregation but form part of the bedrock of Wilmot."
- Wilmot United Church Annual Report 2019, page 12

Our committee is an umbrella group of those that care for others and is chaired by Dana Hanson. These groups include; the Teleministry program, the prayer circle, prayer shawl knitters, the quilters as well as the Circle of Care.

The Prayer Circle

The Prayer Circle offers confidential prayer support daily for those with physical, emotional, family or spiritual needs.

To have your concerns added to the prayer list, contact Guy Vezina, 455-6174 or Raday Brown, 454-3001.

Teleminsitry

Tele-ministry is a ministry carried out by touching base with members of the congregation via telephone. It has proven to be a great way to stay in touch with our church family, especially seniors/shut-ins.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

What are the possibilities when we knit, when we pray, when we gather, when we give away, when we receive?

A group gathers the first Monday of every month from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Parlour to explore these questions. The love of knitting and crocheting has been combined into a ministry that reaches those in need of comfort.

We don't know who will receive our shawls, but when one is completed, it is offered a final ritual before being sent on its way. No experience necessary.
